Summer Whites
And making the old new again...
In honor of full disclosure, I made plans to meet with a fellow blogger and friend yesterday to take pictures but ended up spending the entire day racking my brain trying to come up with an outfit. I didn't have anything new to feature, so I eventually just grabbed an old white blouse and shorts, figuring I didn't have to use the pictures if I really didn't want to. I have had this top for at least four years, and while I love it I tend to forget about it because it's old. (Which is funny, because nowadays I feel like we are all trying to buy long-term investment pieces and fewer trendy pieces. And yet this one sits in the back of my closet the majority of the time.) So I challenged myself to make an old favorite new again.
I wanted to look extra summer-y because fall is quickly approaching and I want to squeeze every last drop of wear out of my summer clothes as I can before the season ends. I paired the top with white denim shorts, my neutral espadrilles, a nude bucket bag and my favorite pair of Kendra Scott earrings. I was actually so surprised at how much I ended up liking the outfit once I had it on. The wedges and earrings really dressed it up in a way that I hadn't before, and now I feel like it is the perfect outfit for wearing out to brunch or to dinner on one of those last summer nights.
How do you reinvent your oldest pieces? I'd love to hear in the comments below!
