Summer to Fall Staples
Dare I say it? Fine. I'll say it. I am already thinking about fall. Every catalogue that has my address, every store that has my email address, and all of pinterest is also thinking about it. And while I usually err on the side of buying things "in the moment" lately I have been a little bit more focused on making thoughtful decisions with my purchases. In other words, instead of the impulse buying, I am making a conscious effort to purchase with intention exactly which pieces I want to wear in the upcoming season.
While all of this excitement is going on in my head, (i.e. dreaming of piecing together the perfect 1970s inspired look without evoking a pimp-like feeling) I have to reconcile my body with the fact that outside it is rudely 90 degrees and humid as can be. My hair lasted all of about 3 minutes after we took these photos and then it went up in a bun.
With that being said, now it's all about narrowing down what I want to wear this fall and decide which pieces I can wear both now and later. A few of my recent pick-ups included this pair of skinny jeans (I know that flare jeans are necessary this fall but I really don't think skinny jeans are 'over', do you? I would love to hear your thoughts below!) I also snagged this shirt which is so light and perfect for summer but I can definitely see myself layering with skirts and long cardigans this fall! It's one of those neutral staples that I know I will get a lot of wear out of. I accessorized with my favorite (and first) pair of Kendra Scott earrings which I also consider an wardrobe staple, my beloved shooties and my Clare V. clutch.
