Why I Started Oak Interiors

For as long as I can remember, I’ve been drawn to beautiful spaces. Not just the kind that looks picture-perfect in a magazine, but the kind that feels lived-in, personal, and quietly luxurious. Spaces that tell a story—not just about design, but about the people who live there.

After nearly a decade in the world of luxury retail, most recently as a Senior Merchandise Planner and Assistant Buyer for Furniture & Rugs at Neiman Marcus, I gained a deep understanding of craftsmanship, materials, and the power of thoughtful curation. I spent years immersed in designer collections, trend forecasting, and product storytelling. But over time, I felt a pull toward something more personal and creative—something that allowed me to blend my love of interiors, styling, and intentional living.

But while I was building my career, I was also slowly transforming my own home. Room by room, I renovated my home—choosing paint colors, sourcing furniture, styling shelves, obsessing over every last detail. What started as a practical project quickly became a passion. I found myself getting lost in the process, finding joy in the quiet work of making a space feel layered, intentional, and personal.

I fell in love with the design process. Not just the aesthetic choices, but the emotional ones too—how certain textures feel calming, how lighting changes everything, how meaningful objects can make a room come alive.

That experience was the turning point. I realized I wanted to do this not just for myself, but for others.

That’s how Oak Interiors was born.

A Desire to Create With Heart

Oak Interiors is more than a design studio—it’s a reflection of my belief that a home should be your sanctuary. I wanted to create a space where I could work closely with clients to shape interiors that feel effortless, elevated, and uniquely theirs. Whether it’s a full home refresh, a single room project, or simply styling an entryway, my goal is always the same: to bring warmth, clarity, and a sense of calm into every space.

The Name “Oak”

The name Oak holds personal meaning for me. Oaks are strong, enduring, and rooted in history—yet they’re also adaptable, ever-growing, and beautiful in their imperfections. That’s the energy I aim to bring into every design project: a balance of classic simplicity and romantic abundance. I want the homes I design to feel timeless, layered, and full of soul.

My Approach

I believe great design starts with listening. Before I ever source a piece of furniture or select a paint swatch, I want to understand how you live. What brings you joy? What slows you down? What do you want to feel when you walk through your front door?

From there, I blend high and low, old and new, refined and relaxed. My background in merchandising has taught me how to curate with purpose—how to mix textures, balance proportions, and edit with a keen eye. I take that same intentionality into every project I touch.

Looking Ahead

Oak Interiors is still growing—and so am I. I’m incredibly grateful for every client, collaboration, and creative opportunity that has come my way. My hope is to continue building a business rooted in connection, beauty, and thoughtful design.

Whether you’re here for inspiration, looking to work together, or simply love interiors as much as I do—thank you for being part of this journey.
