The Magic of Round Top

I finally made it to Round Top—and I completely understand the hype now. For years, I’d heard friends and designers talk about the charm of this tiny Texas town turned antique mecca, but nothing quite captures it until you’re there in person. The energy, the endless tents, the mix of refined and rustic—it’s heaven for anyone who loves design, craftsmanship, and the thrill of discovery.

From the moment I arrived, I was struck by the atmosphere: a blend of countryside calm and creative chaos. Each field felt like its own little world—European antiques here, artisan textiles there, rows of vintage art and unexpected treasures everywhere in between. It’s the kind of place where you can stumble upon a 19th-century French mirror one minute and a perfectly worn wooden stool the next.

One of my favorite parts was meeting the vendors. There’s something special about hearing the stories behind each piece—the history, the provenance, the way someone’s eyes light up when they describe where it came from. It reminded me that design isn’t just about objects; it’s about connection, memory, and emotion.

I left Round Top inspired (and maybe a little dusty), with a few new treasures and a notebook full of ideas. It’s the kind of place that fills your creative well and makes you want to reimagine everything. I already know this won’t be my last trip—next time, I’ll come with a truck and a plan.
