What to Wear in Napa

Truth be told, I’m a serial over-packer. I’ve tried it all - from planning out each day’s outfit with powerpoint slides (I know), planning activities and therefore wardrobe in advance, and checking multiple weather reports. I desperately wish to be one of those people who has a plan together and doesn’t bring even one unnecessary item aboard. Nevertheless, I am known to be found squeezing two too many pairs of shoes and three too many outfits in my carry on just before heading to the airport. I always like to be dressed for the occasion, whether it’s lounging by the pool or dressed for a night out, but do I wear everything I bring? Usually, no.

This trip was no exception. After cramming as much as possible in my suitcase, I arrived in Napa with multiple outfits to choose from. Here’s what I actually wore…

Rebecca Taylor White Embroidered Midi Dress

Rebecca Taylor White Embroidered Midi Dress

Dresses were mostly what I brought (with the exception of the jeans I wore on the plane), or rather, mostly white dresses. I can’t quite put my finger on why, but I love a clean white dress, especially once spring and summer are here! I feel like dresses are the easiest to wear on a trip because you can just slip something on and be on your way. Considering we’d be in Napa with perfect weather, I tasked myself with bringing items that were elegant and pulled together yet laid back and comfortable, since I knew we’d be walking a lot.

I wore this Rebecca Taylor Midi Dress on our first day and it’s (in my opinion) the quintessential dress to wear in wine country! I love all the detail on this dress, from the embroidery to the sleeves. The light-and-bright white felt refreshing and clean, while the ankle length felt elegant and comfortable.

Day 2: Mi Golondrina Smocked Dress with Tie Shoulder and Embroidery, Golden Goose Sneakers

I wore this Mi Golondrina dress on our second day. This color is sold out but they offer it in plenty of other colors! It’s one of my favorite dresses I’ve ever purchased, and the hand-embroidered detail is just incredible. Mi Golondrina is one of my very favorite stores in Dallas, though it’s gained a following across the country. They collaborate with different artisan communities in Mexico, paying fair wages in an effort to empower artisans to provide a better life for their families. I love wearing brands that are so dedicated to empowering communities. The dress was perfect to wear all day, my only regret was that I didn’t wear a pair of sandals with it!

Night Out: Rebecca Taylor Lace Dress, Jimmy Choo Sandals, Club Monaco Embroidered Wrap

I wore my favorite Rebecca Taylor dress to dinner that night. It felt elegant enough for a special dinner, but still casual enough to wear in Napa. I brought along my favorite embroidered wrap since I knew it would cool off at night!

Day 3: Veronica Beard Tie Waist Shirtdress

I wore this crisp white Veronica Beard shirtdress on our last day and I love how easy and casual it was to wear. It’s the perfect every-day kind of dress, you could wear it running errands, to brunch, to dinner, and everything in between. It’s by far one of my favorite dresses I’ve purchased!
