Primary Bath Reveal
I am so excited to finally share our Primary Bathroom Renovation! I am so proud of how this bathroom came together, from the initial design concept to the construction and work to the final details. So much thought was put into the best use and layout of the space. I wanted to keep the design simple and classic, but I added a few coastal touches throughout to add a little design flair.
The History
A little history on the room. When we moved into our house, (a 1940s craftsman bungalow in the heart of Dallas) this was the nicest, most updated room, but we felt it had the potential to be so much more. (Scroll all the way down for the before pictures!) Since this bathroom was in good shape, this was one of the final renovation projects we took on, as we prioritized other more pertinent house projects. It gave us lots of time to think about exactly how we wanted to renovate the space, and I can’t say the extra time hurt- I am so thrilled with how this space turned out!
The Design
Needless to say, there were a couple small changes along the way, but I feel like I really accomplished a lot of what I set out to do with this bathroom - create a clean and classic space that was neutral but warm, with touches of marble throughout. The biggest change of plans was not using wallpaper in the space. I ultimately felt wallpaper would compete with the simple color palette I wanted, and I feel like it was the right choice! I love the mix of brass and polished nickel throughout the space - we kept all the plumbing hardware in polished nickel and the decorative hardware in aged brass. I think the mix of the two metals with marble counters and tile felt well-balanced! I landed on Benjamin Moore’s Chantilly Lace for the paint color.
I have so many favorite design details in this room, but ultimately, I think my favorites are the shower floor tile, the curved marble backsplash detail, and the sink faucet hardware. I loved designing this space, and I hope you love it as much as I do!
