My Favorite Things to do and Places to Eat in Maui

Today I'm sharing our Hawaii itinerary! We were in Maui for 5 whole days and we had the best time. I think it was one of favorite trips we've ever taken! One of the best parts about Maui was that you don't really have to plan too much in advance, which worked for us because we went at the very last minute. We could have spent another entire week there since there was so much to do!

Day 1

We arrived in Maui late the night before. We stayed at the Sheraton Maui in Kaanapali on the west side of the island. Sunday morning we headed straight for the beach and spent nearly the whole day there. We broke for lunch and walked down the boardwalk to Leilani's and had some of the best fish tacos I've ever had! After spending the afternoon back on the beach, we got back to our room to get ready for dinner. We walked down the beach to Monkeypod, which became one of our favorite places to eat because it was so good and convenient and they had great live music. The Poke Tacos and Mai Tais with Pineapple Whipped Cream were my two favorite items on the menu!

Day 2

It was raining where the hike we originally wanted to do was located, so we switched gears to another trail closer to our side of the island. We hiked around the West Maui Mountains, and while we saw some beautiful views, it made for a challenging hike. After hiking, we had lunch at Leoda's Kitchen and Pie Shop which was so cute and one of my favorite places to eat on the whole trip! After lunch we got back to the hotel, showered, and went back to Monkeypod for the second time.

Day 3

The weather was a little rainy on Tuesday so we decided to head into upcountry for the day! We started the day at the Botanical Gardens, next was the Lavender Farm, and from there we headed to Maui Wine Company for a wine tasting. This was all located along the same highway so it was a lot of driving but easy to get from place to place! Tuesday we had dinner at Sansei Sushi in Kapalua, and on the way there we caught one of the most incredible sunsets I've ever seen!

Day 4

This was the most beautiful day weather-wise so we wanted to spend every minute under the sun. We started the day snorkeling at the beach at our hotel, then showered and got the most delicious lunch at Paia Fish Market. From there we toured Punakea Palms (a coconut farm) which was one of my favorite parts of the trip! After that we headed for the pool, then spent a 3rd night at Monkeypod.

Day 5

We packed our things in the morning and then spent some time back in Lehaina and on the way stopped at Oluwalu juice stand. In Lehaina we walked around and saw the town, and popped into some shops and art galleries. From there we drove to Hali'maile General store for lunch. Then we headed to a town called Paia and stopped in a cute coffee shop for a while. We stopped an watched surfers on the beach before our very last stop- Mama's Fish House- for cocktails before heading to the airport.
