Spiced Pumpkin Doughnuts with Vanilla Glaze

As the temperatures dipped to a cool 27 degrees this past weekend and fall had officially arrived, declaring that "it is going to be cold from now on, and please get yourself ready for some nice, wintry hibernation," the very first thing I thought about was all the delicious fall food I was going to make. And this morning, when I was desperately craving a thick slice of Starbucks' pumpkin bread, (something I only allow myself to order when it's actually cold outside), but didn't feel like braving the cold, I set out to bake these doughnuts instead. I have never made doughnuts before, and to be honest I was expecting a disaster. But this turned out to be one of the easiest recipes I have ever made, and one of the fastest. The doughnuts had that perfect spiced flavor and came out moist and dense, and the vanilla glaze was just enough sweetness to balance out the savory doughnut.  Try it out for yourselves, and let me know how it goes!
