The 9 Items I Added to my Wardrobe this Fall
This fall I’ve continued my goal of only buying pieces that are 100% me. I started this resolution last Spring, after going through my closet and realizing how many things I generally liked but had one issue or another- didn’t feel quite like my taste, didn’t work for my current lifestyle, or were simply purchased without much thought beforehand. Bending my own shopping rules meant several items have ended up sitting in my closet unworn.
The result of my resolution? I ended up adding only pieces that I truly love and thus have worn all year. In turn, that’s sometimes meant being able to buy better quality, but less quantity. It feels good to only add things I absolutely love that I feel are timeless additions. So without further ado… here’s what I bought this fall!
Veronica Beard White Embroidered Blouse. I’d been in need of more lightweight long sleeve tops for fall (hello Texas weather) and this checked off every box. I’m in love with all of the feminine details!
Golden Goose Sneakers: I’d been waiting to purchase a pair until I found a pair that was perfect for me. A lot of their styles are so bold - I love the simple design here. I also love the slip on style!
Blue Eyelet Shift Dress from Rebecca Taylor: I love everything about this dress, from the most perfect shade of blue to the eyelet detail to the simple silhouette. I’ve paired it with everything from my new sneakers to wedges to espadrilles.
YSL Kate Bag: I’ve long been a fan of the Kate style and when I saw this white and gold version, I knew it was time to pull the trigger.
Ulla Johnson Iliana Dress: Y’all, this might be my favorite of everything I purchased. Completely romantic and feminine, this midi dress has fulfilled so many of my needs in finding a dress for fall. The warm white, almost beige tone, the puffed sleeves, the midi length, the ability to transform into a fall or spring outfit. Checks every freaking box.
Rebecca Taylor Babydoll Top: This might be one of my favorite blouses now. Everything from the square neckline to the artistic print to the mix of blue and white - I will love this top forever
Enza Costa Off the Shoulder Tee: yes this is a tee shirt, but it looks so much dressier! I wore this out to dinner the other night and it felt perfectly laid back but still fashion forward. I wore it with jeans, but I think it could be easily dressed up with silk wide leg pants.
Vince Cashmere Sweater: I’m always looking to add a new sweater to my closet, and once I tried this perfectly griege turtleneck on, I knew I found a good one. I needed something a little more fitted, neutral and cozy, and I think this sweater accomplishes all of that!
Paige Cindy Jeans: It has been my goal this fall to find a new pair of jeans. I think everyone can join me in saying easier said than done. After searching for literally months, I went into a store with a friend for emotional support, pulled 20+ pairs, and narrowed it down to one pair that I loved (that didn’t need to be tailored!) I love the wash, the rise, and the ankle length on this pair.
And that’s all! I feel good that I set goals and boundaries to shop with and that I bought fewer pieces that will “do more” and that check every need off my list. To see everything I bought this Spring, click here.
I’m already planning what I’ll buy for spring, so I can’t wait to do another post in a few months recapping it all!
